Moving Text Objects Jump Back to Original Position

Photoshop 25.1.0 (though it has occurred as long as I can remember!)

Windows 11 Pro

I notice that when moving an object to another position, it often jumps back to the original position when I release the mouse. It seems to most often occurs when moving text and I think it may be due to font size dialog being active—for instance, if I set the size of a font and then move the text object without hitting escape or enter. See attached video.

Is this just a bug in or function of Windows or something Adobe can correct?

Hi @csquared63 in your video you move it several times without issue. What happens if you commit your font size first then move?

Not that it should matter - I can edit size and still move. Whats odd to me in your video is when you move it is not showing transformation handles like this:

What are you using to move? Cmd hot key to move or ?

Hi Kevin,

I'm using the move tool to move it. The several times I move it in the beginning is just to show there is no issue unless the font size dialog box is active. This also happens when the font window font size is active, or any other for that matter.

I think the handles aren't showing because I am entering a value, rather than CTRL-T scaling.

Hi @csquared63 on my example I was adjusting the size and leaving the text live (not return or esc to commit). When I hold down ctrl I get the move tool temporarily and it shows those handles while I hold ctrl down.

OK, yes I can replicate that, but I am using the numerical dialog to change the size, and then moving.

Type the text. Commit it. With the move tool still selected, type a new size in the box and then attempt to move the text to a new position without commiting the dialog. It jumps back to the original position.
