My abr brush file won't load into photoshop

I tried to load the abr. file through "Load Tool Presets" but it simply showed up as a gray (unclickable) file. I also tried just clicking it in Finder, but it says "Could not load all the brushes because the maximum number of brushes have been loaded." I'm not sure what's the actual problem here, do anyone knows how to fix this?

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Brushes, Options Bar, …) visible? 

 

How mayn brushes have you loaded at the moment? 

Have you tried reducing the number (considerably)?
