Question

My artboards completely disappeared.

I used to have 7 artboards on this file; however, during my working process, the system notified me that my laptop doesn't have enough RAM to save this. I switch the scratch disk to the D drive, and things work smoothly after that. Yesterday when I visited the file, all the artboards were still there, but today when I revisited the file, 4 had disappeared. I tried to close the file and also Photoshop, but nothing has changed. Is there anything I can do to get my work back?

Hey, @QPham. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I am sorry for the trouble this must've been. I'll try to help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > upload and attach here.

Do you know if this happens with the specific documents? Is this image stored on an external drive or in a folder associated with cloud backup services? Working through a network or external drive is unpredictable & is not recommended. Head here to learn more: https://adobe.ly/3A2G2zK

Users have shared some solutions that could help you recover: https://adobe.ly/3XjliMB;

Please let me know if you find a repeatable pattern or series of steps along with a sample JPEG/PSD file with me via direct message.

Thanks!

This is the first time I've witnessed such a problem, and I also searched the community to see if anyone had the same mistake as me. Besides, I only have 2 default drives on my laptop, and all the media are in the same place before and after I change my scratch disk preference, and given that I was able to reopen the file without any problems even after I changed it too. I couldn't access the user solutions link you shared as it said 404 not found, but here is my Photoshop system info. Thank you in advance @Sameer K

Sorry for the confusion. Here is the correct link: https://adobe.ly/4bwhNIr

Your workflow is unique, and I've been attempting to recreate it but with no success. For now, maybe unrelated, you can update the GPU drivers on your machine as they are 15 and 28-month old, and GPU drivers under 6 months old are recommended.
