My Photoshop environment has completely changed

My Photoshop seems to change it's working area environment when ever it wants to....Or maybe I am clicking on something I shouldn't be clicking on....Please let me explain, when I bring a few pictures onto the photoshop working area, I will open a new blank image and add one or many photos onto the blank new page. But every once in a while Photoshop will, usually when I click or move one photo, eliminate all the other photos and show only the one that I had clicked on.....So the photo I clicked on will be visable and all other space on the screen will be colored light brown....Or light orange....Can someone please tell me what I, or photoshop, is doing wrong? I would really appreciate your help !!

Can you share some screenshots with us to show what's happening?

Thank You Marek Mularczyk for your offer to help me fix my Photo Shop problem, but I do believe the problem is fixed. Semaphoric sent me a message that he believed I made the mistake that caused the problem, this is what he mentioned to me, " If you move a floating window so that it touches the Option bar it can change into a tab. Try Window > Arrange > Float All in Windows. "  I believe that is what I did wrong. Thanks so much for offering me assistance !

It sounds like you may have inadvertently gone from a floating window to a tab. If you move a floating window so that it touches the Option bar it can change into a tab. Try Window > Arrange > Float All in Windows.

Glad to help. It benefited me, too. I'd occasionally been bothered by the same thing, but never really checked what was causing it until now.
