I have reduce a picture size to 100 dpi and dimention set to 500*500 pixel, normally save as JPG and JPG file size should be 100 KB - 200 KB

But when I save as JPG, the size is huge - 23 MB !!!

Very strange, am I did something wrong ?

Thanks

The issue is most likely a build-up of excessive photoshop:DocumentAncestors metadata. If you go to File > File Info and then the raw data tab, there will likely be a message that there is too much data to display (if using a more recent version of Photoshop). Older versions would show something like this:

If you don't need the 100 PPI value, then use Export As or Export Save for Web (Legacy). Both of these will strip the photoshop:DocumentAncestors metadata, along with most other metadata.

If you do need to retain the 100 PPI metadata value, then you need to use one of the methods in the link above to remove the photoshop:DocumentAncestors metadata and then use Save As to retain the resolution metadata.

Hi, does it still occur on the current version? was anyone able to pinpoint the origin of this issue?
