Neural Filter Skin Smoothing applied to entire body?

New Here ,
Feb 01, 2021 Feb 01, 2021

Is there a way to change the automatically selected section in the Neural Filter Skin Smoothing?

I would like to apply this filter to the entire body not just the face.

Why is this not available?

I do agree, this feature would be really nice to have.

Neural Filters are artificial intelligence-driven. Thus it can do only what it's been programmed to do.

To smooth skin on larger areas:

  1. Copy layer with Ctrl + J.
  2. With topmost layer highlighted, make a selection with your favorite selection tools (Magic Wand, Quick Selection, Quick Mask, or Pen.)
  3. Apply Filter > Blur >  Gaussian blur > Radius: 8.2%,
  4. Apply Filter > Noise > Add Noise > 2% > Gaussian > No Monochromatic blur.
  5. Reduce Layer Opacity on topmost layer to suit.  Likewise, you may adjust the values above.
  6. If you're happy with the results, Save it as an Action.

Hope that helps.

Completely agree. There is no difference between skin on any part of the body -  It's skin!  The filter is then mis-named, as it isn't "skin smoothing" it's "facial imperfection removal" or "facial pimple remover" or something... it isn't "skin smoothing" since it only works on the face.
