Community Beginner ,
Aug 09, 2021 Aug 09, 2021
I am able to select Filters > Neural Filters. The Neural Filters panel is all greyed out. I am able to click different filters but all options are greyed out and unable to select. Please help to fix this issue. Thank you.

You need to toggle the switch behind the name of the filter.

I am not sure if these filters need GPU support, but I do think do. Check in the Preferences - Performance if your GPU is supported and if support is enabled.

@Johan_Elzenga

Thank you. Upon checking for Performances, Use Graphics Processor was selected as per the screenshot attached.

I looked at your initial screenshot again, and I noticed that even though the image is a jpeg, the screenshot shows that a layer is selected. Jpeg files do not have layers of their own, so this must be a layer that you added. Could that be the explanation? Did you perhaps select an empty layer? I never tied (and as I am typing this on my iPad I cannot try it), but I could imagine that the filters are dimmed if they cannot work, and they can’t work on an empty layer.

@Johan_Elzenga I opened a JPEG. Did not do anything to it. Clicked Filters > Neural Filters. Still the same issues.

Oddly enough, your screenshot shows once again a layer…

This is an ongoing stability issue on Adobe's end. I've been trying to get a resolution for over a month now. It's gotten to the point where tech support even refuses to call with an update about the issue. Best thing you can do is contact their billing department and demand 30 days credit for your account. unfortunately this seems to be the only thing that actually motivates the company to do anything about the shortcomings within their products, and even then, only if enough people do so.

This is my issue too! They were all working and then I had problems with photoshop even opening at all and once I got it to open I went to the neural filters to use them and can't select anything except for color transfer. Have you found any solutions yet?

it's a stability issue on Adobe's end. Unfortunately they have a bad habit of releasing new features without stabilizing the ones they currently "support". best thing you can do is contact billing and demand 30 days credit for your account.

What ended up working for me was installing the latest version of Photoshop. The filters don't work in Photoshop 2021 but they work in 2022.
