Neural Filters error "there was an error running this filter"

When I try to use a neural filter, I get an error "there was an error running this filter" and a warning "there was an issue running filters". I suspect this is because on my corporate network we use an internet proxy. Is there a way to set proxy settings in Photoshop?

I have just installed PS 22.4.0 today on my windows 10, 64 PC with 12 gb of Ram.

When I try to use the neural filters I get the message:"there was an error running this filter"

Could it be a graphics card problem?

Hello everyone,

I've had some weird results tonight. I've also found that the filter disables on particular images...

I've found it mainly occurs on newspaper scans. Maybe there's an algorithem reason for this?

So maybe try duplicating the layer and give it a "Filter>Gaussian blur"

Dont be shy, you want to blur those newspaper dots!

Try again.

If your Neural Filter remains disabled, apply another "Filter>Gaussian blur" on the layer.

There seems like there's a sweet spot.

Hopefully this works for everyone tearing their hair out as I was... its some kinda voodoo 🙂

Maybe I'm going loco but seems to work.

Also if it's still disabling... try turning OFF the "facial recognition".

And run it again with just the "photo enhancement", "scratch reduction" and "halftone artifacts reduction" sliders tweaked.

And then try again. Its a dance.

Just updated to 22.5.0 and it's still not resolved. Error shows "We've temporarily disabled this filter because of an error.".

YES! That's another dev at Adobe achieving his issue solving target. The bug is marked as 'solved' 🙂 manager is happy, product owner happy puts this filters as a "new feature" on the backlog. Finance is happy, everyone is still paying the monthly Adobe CC subscriptions with minimal support cost.

Have just seen in another thread that this has been recognised and registered as a bug by Adobe:

"We're sorry for the Neural filter issues after the latest update of Photoshop 22.5. We have acknowledged this issue and logged as a bug. Our engineering team working on the fix. As a workaround, you can rollback Photoshop to 22.4.3 version to resolve this issue for now. We really appreciate your patience with us."

That said, I doubt the workaround of rolling back to 22.4.3 will get it working, it was whilst I was already using 22.4.3 that it broke in the first place. I only updated to 22.5.0 because I thought it would fix it.

Also experiencing the same issue, with ALL neural filters. Regular filters work fine. Tried all suggestions in this thread to no avail. Win10.

FYI: Today I updated to 22.4.3 with hopes on a solution for this issue, but unfortunately is still -not- solved.

If the neural filters are also for you not working please reply in this topic in order to get some scope in amount of affected users.

I keep having "there was an error running this filter" error. I have sent feedback using the built in feedback method including the picture(s)

I have updated to version 22.4.2, This did NOT solve the issue
I have quit Photoshop, renamed the following folder C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\UXP\
PluginsStorage\PHSP\22\Internal\com.adobe.nfp.gallery\PluginData Started Photoshop again; This did NOT solve the issue
I have uninstalled Photoshop, re-installed photoshop, rebooted logged out and in of my creative cloud account. This all did NOT solve the issue.
Please advise what to do next to solve the "there was an error running this filter" error
