Question

Never Enough RAM

I'm hoping it's a simple fix. Maybe I've done something to mess things up, but I have 16GB RAM and Photoshop constantly tells me it can't open an image when I drag and drop or copy and paste or can't perform a task such as object/quick selection because there is not enough RAM? It doesn't matter if Photoshop is the only thing running and it doesn't matter how much memory I let Photoshop use. It's been like this for the last couple of updates. It makes it impossible to do even basic tasks.

Hoping someone can help.

Also make sure you have plenty of scratch disk space free.

If it's a laptop, make sure the integrated Intel GPU is completely disabled. Dual GPUs with conflicting drivers is always a problem.

Hi there,

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing a RAM issue.

Would you mind sharing the details of your graphics card? Can you help us with a screenshot of the error message that you see? Is this happening with a particular type of file?

Please check if your graphics processor is compatible or not? CHECK

Try optimizing Photoshop once to see if that improves the performance: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
