New Gradient Feature - CC 2020

Hi, I've been searching through the forum looking for a thread on the gradient tool that is no longer in CC 2020 and how the new feature differentiates itself in that you apply layers to the documents now. Is their a script that exists for CC 2020 that allows you to use that kind of gradient tool again? The use of gradient layers are not as easy as it once was in previous versions when you made a selection and could apply a variety of gradients that could apply more than one shade a lot faster. Perhaps I'm overlooking something in this new version though?

And secondly: What is

»The use of gradient layers are not as easy as it once was in previous versions when you made a selection and could apply a variety of gradients that could apply more than one shade a lot faster.«

supposed to mean?

The Gradients Panel does not change that Gradient Layers still exist and as far as I can tell they work just as before.

Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?

Sorry, I asked this question out of angst. This is my first time with CC for Photoshop. Always been use to having that gradient tool there when it starts up. Thanks for the solution.

Apparently so.

First off what gave you the idea the Gradient Tool was removed?

If it’s not in the Toolbar see Edit > Toolbar.
