New Gradient Tool Issue

If I set the gradient tool to: foreground color to transparent (say white to transparent) it initially works fine.  But if I then change the foreground color, (say to black) the tool still shows the previous foreground color (i.e. still white to transparent).  To get it to incorporate the new foreground color I have to reset it.  This is especially inconvenient now that there are a series of menus for different colors and it's necessary to go to the bottom of all these creative (and not that useful) creative gradients to get to the "basics" menu.

You say that the foreground color isn’t changing when you sample. Have you tried drawing at this point? I'm wondering if the change is getting made but perhaps Photoshop is not updating the thumbnail.

    I hope this is just something more mundane than an actual bug, because a proper gradient tool is like 90 percent of my daily workflow. I select a new foreground color and it's not reflected or changed in the gradient tool.

      I'm having a similar bug/issue. I pull lots of gradients as I render my artwork. Within the last week, the gradient tool's foreground color doesn't change when I sample a new color to render with. I have to manually click on the gradient slider in the toobar menu and then click the foreground color and then sample the color I already have in my foreground chip on my floating toolbar. Gradient tool isn't recognizing when I sample new colors with the eyedropper.

        Have you tried to double click gradient handle to open Color picker and change color, see attached screenshot.
