New PS 2022 - slow, laggy zoom

Well known bug from older versions, as you can see Adobe can't fix it again. New photoshop 23.0 on pc causes zoom to not run smoothly. Cleaning settings, deleting presets and changes in the use of GPU acceleration do not help. The older version (22.5) works great. Any ideas how to restore smooth zoom?

I've been having the same lag issues too, and after trying to find an answer and reading yours, turning off Rulers & Grids removed a substantial chunk of it.

Quite odd to say the least.

Update to 23.2.2 - fixes this issue with Rulers shown causing a lag.

Hi, I've installed V24.0, same problem again. Zoom and Scroll are lagging and it is not possible to work.
Nvidia drivers are up to date, PS says everithing is fine fom him...Open GL and so on.
Tried to remove the grid, the animated zoom, no way, the problem is still there and I don't want to fallback again to previuos version...as I pay also for updates to say it clearly!

Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue. None of the above fixes have helped. Adobe can you explain why we are all getting this laggy zoom issue?

Hi, I'd try to check "Deactivate Native Canvas" in the menu Edit/Preferences/Technology preview (Pc) or Photoshop/Preferences/Technology preview (Mac), then restart Photoshop.

Photoshop is rewritten to use the GPU in way more features, and in different ways, because of changes mandated by the Operating Systems. But for that to work flawlessly, one needs a fairly recent and moderately powerful GPU, and correct drivers.

It might help to post the contents of Photoshop's Help>System Info... menu, so that we get to know your OS, its version, the exact version of Photoshop you are running, the date of the GPU driver, etc.

I'm having the same problems. After doing all that was suggested and restarting the program, now I can't open a document. The program froze.

My question is, why do we have to turn off rulers, animated zoom, ect to get the program to work properly. I prefer these features. This is the first time I've ever been unhappy with the new version of Photoshop. I'm on the verge of uninstalling it and using the 2021 version.

Hello, some users reported that unchecking "animated zoom"  in Edit/Preferences/Tools helped.

Others had to disable "flick panning"
