hi! I have a basic question about photoshop compositions- I'm using the latest version of Photoshop CC. Is there a way to create a selection area in a composition, and then import an image into Photoshop that automatically fills in the selection area? Thanks!

H Lindzoy,

Yes, you can use Edit > Paste Special > Paste Into after you have copied the image. This will automatically create a new layer and will mask it.

The image and mask can be moved and scaled independently by default. To link them and keep the together, click the space between them.

You should use masks for this. There is also a frame tool - you create a frame and then drop an image into the frame.
