No brush opacity change in action script in 26.5.0

Hello,
Old action scripts are failing and a new recording to simply manage the brush opacity is not recording. Has this feature been removed? I have 26.5.0 running on a brand new computer. Any help is appreciated. Unfortunately support is not a helpful option.

Is this a script or action?

If it's an action, can you show a screenshot of the action that is already been recorded and not working with brush opacity as one of the steps?

I don't recall ever being able to record the changing of the brush parameters like opacity in an action without the action selecting a brush tool preset or brush preset.

Hello Jeff,
Thank you! That was the answer/hint I was looking for. You cannot record this settings in an action at all. You are right, it would require to select the corresponding brush. I totally forgot about this. Once set up and was running fine on throught all versions on the other PC. Looking further into it, somehow the brushes were not copied correctly on the new PC. Including the ones form the 3rd party plugin.
Works, now 🙂
Thanks!

Hey, @TobiasM. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. If you don't mind, our experts can help you verify this.

Please share your current script(s) that has stopped working so our experts can suggest what needs tweaking.

Also, try Photoshop (beta) from the Creative Cloud desktop app > Apps Section > Beta Apps and check if the behavior exists.

Thanks!

.

Because it is not working I have installed BETA already. Unfortunately the same issue.

No need to provide an 'old' script as mentioned it happens when I record a new script.

Here is the information listed in the action window.

old script: Select brush "10%"

new recording: select brush

it totally ignore the opacity settings I adjust while recording. Based on the fact the old script is not working I assume something has changed?
If I run the old script I get the following message:

The command "Select" is not currently available.

Again, recording is working, selecting brush and other tools is working, not working are adjustments of those tools like.

I just tested 3rd party plugins. There as well I am getting a message connected with brushes as their possible opacity.

Do installed version share same settings? Meaning would I need to deinstall both version trying to see if this might help? Again, both installed on a clean PC.

I would appreciate to hear if someone else can confirm the select brush with opacity settings is working on 26 or Beta.

Thank you.

I like to add the information that the only action command I have and want to create is the select brush with a specific opactiy. There are no other commands like a specific layer selection or similar in the script or in a new script.
