No fonts working in Photoshop 2023

Using Photoshop 2023 on a new Mac. Any time I use the type tool I get this message with EVERY typeface:
"Selected font failed during last operation. If problem persists please disable the font."

I have tried:

Unistalling and reinstalling Photoshop.

Turning off all Creative Cloud fonts

Complete restore of standard fonts through Font Book

Gone into Library and cleared out CT Font Cache

Turned Myriad off, redownloaded from CC and back on again.

Nothing is working - I cannot use the Type Tool at all in Photoshop.

Fonts are working in Illutrator.

Please help.

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere:

Does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.
