No longer able to add new guides while in transform

So, a new thing I noticed since updating to the latest version: I can no longer add a guide while I have a layer in Transform (command+T on macs)! This is so frustrating... What good is a reference point, which I use ALL THE TIME for our web graphics, when I can't drag or even create a guide to the transformation's reference point? When attempted the old fashioned way through the dropdown menu, guides are grayed out. This means aligning concept elements just got a whole lot harder for creating splash pages. I've been using Photoshop since 1997 and am really irritated a lot of these tools changed (for the worse - Free-Transform isn't even consistent now - *sometimes* it works as newly advertised while just a few minutes later it reverts to the old way and then *other times*, neither way works!). This is really affecting productivity; not just mine, but our whole team's. They all have the same issue.

Dave is correct,  use Command instead of Ctrl on mac.

Just do not click in the ruler first without command down, or you will cancel the transform.

If you like using guides to do tranforms, check out  edit >> perspective warp a real timesaver and well done by Adobe.
