No longer able to directly open psdc in Photoshop from a Web Browser?

Why can I no longer use 'open in photoshop 2022' to open a pdsc file being viewed  in a browser at https://assets.adobe.com/cloud-documents 'your files'?

There used to be 2 options - 'open in Photoshop' or 'open in Photoshop on the web beta'. Now, all of a sudden only the web/beta option is available which is less ideal. It's now an extra step and extra clicks:  You have to go to 'open in the web first' including every time having to click on a pop-up warning it is in development  and from there you can open in the desktop app. This adds extra steps for team colleagues to take when we are collaborating on a file for review purposes. I am so close to convincing our team to switch to Adobe for reviews, but this is definitely a minus/drawbook in convincing them that this is the way to go. Less smooth, more clicks and more concerns (warning that the software is not finished).

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out! We are sorry about the trouble with collaborations in Photoshop 2022. We are here to help!

Could you please specify the browser you are working with, version of Photoshop 2022 that you have installed on your machine along with the version of operating system on your computer? Could you please confirm if you logged in to Creative Cloud, Photoshop and Assets.adobe.com with the same email account?

Creative Cloud assets will figure out the qualifying applications to open documents in. Below is an example from a test machine where Photoshop & Fresco is installed and are logged in with the same accounts.

This also applies to the users whom you would be collaborating with.

You could also try changing the browser to Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as per the minimum requirements for Photoshop web. Check here for more information: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements-web.html

We hope this helps you out!

Regards,

Sameer K

I am happy that this morning it is back to working as expected again. For the record - yes I was logged in with the same account and yes I was using chrome. I also have the latest PS installed - I update regularly. However, that may have not been the case yesterday. I have two different accounts set up on my machine, one personal and one for work. I use my personal CC when working in my personal account and my work CC account when working in my work account. However, I only update PS when in my personal account (set to do so automatically) (because it is my personal machine and I do updates from my main login only), so it could have been that yesterday I was working with the previous PS but I am not entirely certain.
