No objects were detected

I've updated to the latest PS for the select object tools, but it doesn't work at all.

If i use Layers - Mask all objects i get a popup with "No objects were detected".

Also the object selection tools never shows any objects and the object finder box is ticked.

What kind of image are you working on? What computer? More info and a screenshot probably would help to figure things out...

I've tried several pictures, with cars, people, birds and just simple object on a white background, nothing selects.

I'm using a macbook pro on Catalina.

I search the web it look like the  Mac GT650 came in two versions 512MB and 1GB   VRAM 2012 and Intel HD graphics 4000 is also very old..  What does Photoshop 2022 menu Help>GPU Compatibility show about you MAC GPU?

PS shows it doesn't have enough Vram, all the other bits (openGL/CL and metal) are green.
