Not able to open "file info" to edit metadata

Hi commuity!

I've been trying to edit metadata on my TIF-file through "File info" in photoshop, but when I click on it I get the error message "Could not complete the File Info command because the Metadata library could not be loaded.". I've been trying multiple images and I get the same message for all of them.

I have Photoshop 2024 and MacOS Big Sur.

Please let me know if you need more info.

Thanks xx

It's super fast and easy to edit meta data in Bridge. It's all in the Metadata tab - just use the essentials workspace, select an image and you will see all of the metadata.

It may sound like a pop-culture joke reference, but have you tried resetting preferences? Corrupted prefs are often the cause of inexplicable behaviour.

Before resetting preferences, it's always a good idea to manually back up your custom actions and custom presets such as brushes for safety (saving actions to .atn file, brushes to .abr files etc).

Otherwise, you might need to reinstall, or try Adobe Bridge to see if that also has the same issue (as a workaround, not a fix).
