Hello!
I am running into a new issue with, I presume, the offset tool. It has started putting a section of my drawing outside the bounds of my image when I use it. When I eventually go to define my pattern it then doesn't line up seamlessly as a section is effectively missing. Sometimes it is just one side of the drawing and sometimes multiple. It varies from being a couple of mm to a few pixels.
I can 'find' the missing parts of my drawing using the crop tool but it is a real pain and time consuming relining it back up.
I have been using photoshop for a long time so I like to think I am very familiar with the program. I have never ran into this before and I cannot for the life of me work out why it has started doing this. I am using CS6
Any help is much appreciated!

As an »offset tool« does not seem to exist in Photoshop do you mean the Filter Offset? (edited)
Could you please post meaningful screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible to clarify what you are talking about?
Edit: If it is about the Filter »Offset« does the Layer contain off-canvas content?

Hi,
Thank you. Yes, I mean filter offset.
I am trying to replicate my problem to get some screen shots. Naturally, it is behaving today! This is partly why I am pulling my hair out as it is not a consistent problem. To my knowledge, I am not changing any settings.
The layer never starts with off canvas content. I am finding that it is moving content off canvas once I have used the filter. (Wrap around is checked) Sometimes it has moved things off canvas on such a small scale that I don't notice until I go to define my pattern.
I will update if / when i have some screenshots.
Thanks!

Off-canvas content seems like a possible issue.

Thank you, I would presume this too. I haven't placed or purposely moved anything off canvas / used any masks etc prior to using Offset.
Is there a setting that I might have clicked that could be allowing a layer to move off canvas that I can double check? OR a way of making sure the offset filter only works to the canvas size?

Just check the Layer, for example by hitting ctrl-T (Tranform) – does the transformation box exceed the canvas?
