Hi Terry,

No they are not stored in PS and are only stored in Creative Cloud if you put them there. With your new system, be sure to get an external drive and backup to it.

Hi Terry,

If you are on a Mac, use Spotlight inside of the Finder. Start with "Name ends with .psd" and use the plus sign on the right to add as many filters as you need for Created Date, etc. Be sure to choose "This Mac", not the current folder.

Hi

By "History" are you referring to the Recent Files list ? That is not a complete list of PSD files on your computer just a reference to those recently edited.

Come out of Photoshop and use Windows file explorer to search for *.psd in "This PC". It will give you a list of every psd file stored across your drives.

If your using Windows 10 as I do, I still complain about the slow archaic and limited way of searching files. But when you select a disk drive do a search typing *.psd, in the View menu have several options check the extension and hidden files checkboxes,.... You may also try some third part utilities. Though finding psd should not too complicated. From Photoshop or any other application there is hardly anything you can do for searching.

I will give you a better suggestion use Adobe Bridge, it is fast and can filter by file extensión. On the search path that shows on top, you can click at the end to allow it to show what is inside of folders and subfolders of the drive, folder, you are .

Photoshop is not a file management system. It doesn't know where your files are and it's not supposed to. The Photoshop History panel logs edits in an open document. It ends when the file is closed.

If your operating system searches don't come up with anything, you need to go through all your folders one by one. Knowing where your files are is your own responsibility. Make a logical folder structure.
