One click export selected layer or selection (plugin?)

Greetings,

Can someone recommend a method or plugin to export in the desired format the currently selected layer or the selection area in one click?

 

I used to rely on the PNGHat Plugin (since discontinued) by MadeBySource and the ScreenSnap Plugin (also discontinued).
I have searched alternatives that are compatible to Photoshop 2021 to no avail.

 

I well know how to go around without any plugin, but for my daily use finding a shortcut will save plenty of time.

Many thanks in advance for any hint.

For selection to export I can suggest action step to copy/paste on new layer then to use Export As as already suggested. You can record multiple steps in one action and to play it using keyboard shortcut.

    Contextual/right-click on the layer and use the "quick export as..." or the "export as" options. Otherwise a script can export the current selected layer/selection and be bound to a keyboard shortcut or run from an action.
