Opacity slider not working!

I use photoshop almost every day and one option I am most used to, suddenly stopped working. 

I used to change layer opacity percentage by clicking on it and moving the cursor over it. But now it stopped working!

It only works when im clicking after EVERY little change (its very annoying and hard to work like this)

or when I remember about expanding the slider. But I would really appreciate if I could continue using it as Im used to... 

 

Tried to reset settings, tried to enable legacy compositing. Nothing works! 

 

Please, if someone knows how to fix this little but annoying thing I would very appreciate that, thank You in advance!

    Yeah its still terrible, makes a simple job take hours. The best advice so far is to go back a few versions, 21.0.3 or something being the most stable.

      Has this been fixed as i'm on 21.1.1 and when I change the opacity slider the preview grey box changes but the picture opacity doesn't. When I click ok nothing has changed on the picture and it is still the same.

       

      Restarted and seems to now work.

      Well I just got back to 21.0.3 because amount of bugs in 21.1 is overwhelming...

      Hello !

      Today I noticed the same issue. This bug makes work sensless at all. Online support could not solve the problem, looks like it is serious bug.

      Good to know they are aware of it, I hope they will fix it asap. I'm starting to regret spending so much money on photoshop

      Until they fixed it, try this: with the Move tool selected, type the numbers you want. Type 5 to get 50. Type 53 very quickly to get 53.

      Funny thing is, hitting CTRL + T to enter free transform fixes the issue as someone mentioned in the feedback thread, although you have to stay in that mode while using the sliders

        We are sorry about the experience with Photoshop due to the opacity slider.

         

        Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop you are using along with your computers operating system? While changing the opacity by clicking and dragging, do you see the changes after a few seconds of letting go of the click?

        Thanks for the reply! 

        When I change the opacity using the slider, it is visible immediately. But it's delayed on the video because of the recording program I used. When I click and drag the opacity percentage, there are no changes. 

        The slider also works properly in blending options menu. 

         

        Anyway, the problem is not about mouse because I checked it with other mouses, graphic tablet and a touchpad.
