Opening DNG files in Photoshop

Explorer ,
Dec 12, 2021 Dec 12, 2021

Hello,

When I hit Control-E in Lightroom to open a DNG file in Photoshop I get an error message saying 'the file can not be edited because Adobe Photoshop 2022 could not be launched'. Error message attached.

When I hiy OK the file is saved as a TIF file and opens in Photoshop.

Previous versions of Photoshop have never done this, and I don't get this problem when I use my laptop.

I use Windows 11.

Regards,

Wayne.

Where did this DNG come from, is it the only DNG that fails (can you access other DNGs)?

Hello,

When I import photos of my card into Lightroom I convert them to DNG during imort.

Hasn't been a problem for any previous versions of Photoshop, and works fine with this current version on my laptop.

Cheers,
Wayne.

Try trashing your Photoshop preferences. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current prefs. Any better?

Check in Bridge that this script is running.

There could be other background scripts involved (I don't know the details here) - but I'd probably try an uninstall/reinstall of both apps.

Hi, have you launched Photoshop once before launching it from Lightroom? (the reset prefs should count)
