Hello everyone,
Is anyone experiencing Ps not running properly after updating their Macbook Pro to Tahoe 26.0?
Every action takes 10 seconds to load, it's super laggy and literally unusable. I purged, I restarted, I reinstalled, I did it all - nothing.
Any ideas? Is this a bug Adobe/Apple have to sned an update for?

Thanks, have a good day
@ExUSA You can't disable a Mac GPU systemically. What you can do is change how the Mac performs and utilizes the GPU under the Battery settings. Make sure Battery and Power Adapter are set to High Power to prevent GPU switching.
ALL - Adobe MAX starts next Tuesday (10/28) and with that historically comes new product updates including Photoshop. Expect that version to be compatible with Tahoe.
While Photoshop and other Adobe apps have yet to receive compatibility updates for macOS Tahoe, our user @helpful_parent4032 has shared a Reddit thread that might help. Please feel free to try it and check if it helps: https://adobe.ly/4mvZVRY

I'm generally willing to accept help from whatever source can supply it. Adobe has been clear that their apps are not yet officially compatible although many of us are working daily in Tahoe without major problems.

@curt.gallery @Jordiboy many users are reporting doing a full uninstall and reinstall of the applications (not betas) has resolved any issues opening PS (or Illustrator).

What version of Photoshop do you have?

Adobe Photoshop cannot run on this computer because the minimum system requirement is Mac OS X version
By @tommarcello
The last OS X version was Catalina 10.15, released in 2019. The current version is macOS Tahoe 2026.
Do you have an older computer and mean OS X, which started with 10.0 and ended with 10.15? If so, please tell us which OS X you are using.

Is this Photoshop or Photoshop Elements? We have seen reports that older versions of Elements will fail on Tahoe with this error.

There is a known issue with Electron apps, apparently the framework developers did something stupid and used a private Apple API which then changed and caused slowdowns.

Check the link I posted. I'm not having problems on either Intel or Apple Silicon with Tahoe and Photoshop.

So I installed an update on the 28th, but Photoshop 2026 remains unusable on Tahoe 26.0.1. Is there another update coming or ...?

This is not true for many of us. I am running Photoshop on Tahoe with both an M1 Mac mini and an Intel MacBook Pro (low-end configurations at this point) and both are performing well. If you are having problems, something else on your computer is the issue.
Please post specifics about what is "unusable" along with a system report (Photoshop Help menu) so we can see your setup.
There is also the free EtreCheck Pro which does a similar system report and can help pinpoint problems, this is commonly a tool recommended on the Apple forums.
