P: Program error while opening or creating new document after Photoshop 22.1 update [2020]

Since yesterday's update, can´t even open a jpg file. Always says: Could not complete your request because of a program error. I need to work.

    05/20 update: We have resolved another program error issue while dragging assets from libraries to the artboard in Photoshop 22.4.1 update. Could you please update Photoshop to the 22.4.1 version via the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app and let us know your feedback.

    Same problem as everyone. Turning of Graohics Processor atn `refrences doesn´t work. Need to work unrgently!!!!

        I was told a few different things and none of it worked...I let a support person do a bunch of stuff on my computer and when none of it worked he just kind of bailed without saying anything.  Really annoyed.  I have stuff due today that I can't even open.

         

        My computer will open 1 (and only 1) psd file.  And of course it's not the one I need.

          You can and should always keep your previous version installed. That way you can work on that until the problem with 22 is sorted.

           

          If you already uninstalled it, you can go to your Creative Cloud app, and reinstall it from "Other versions".

            Hi, I'm having the same issue. I've already tried with deactivating and re-activating the graphics processor. I have also checked for graphics processor updates from the manufacturer. I'm still not able to open .jpg files and getting the "file was not found" message.

            I'm running Photoshop 21.2.4 version on a Mac with Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6

             

            I appreciate your feedback and assistance in trying to solve this issue.

              Same here!  Can't open a jpg file, even after creating a new document, can't load a jpg, and have to use task manager just to close out Photoshop.  What's going on!???

                Hi there,

                If you go to Preferences > Performance and disable "Use Graphics Processor" does the problem go away? If turning off the graphics processor helped, then please try updating the graphics drivers from the manufacturer's website and then re-check "Use Graphics Processor" under Photoshop's preferences, relaunch Photoshop and let us know if you're still having an issue.

                Me again, sorry.

                Closed Photoshop, and tried it again. The same problem. The only thing that works is disabling the Graphics Processor. Any another clue about this issue?

                      Hi there,

                      If turning off the graphics processor helped, then please try updating the graphics drivers from the manufacturer's website and then re-check "Use Graphics Processor" under Photoshop's preferences, relaunch Photoshop and let us know if you're able to create or open a document.

                      Also, please go to Photoshop's Help > System Info dialog, then copy the whole text and paste it on to a text document. Then share that document with us, so we can pass it on to our engineering team for further investigation.

                      With the CameraRaw 13.0 update Photoshop 2021 22.0.0 x64 became unstable on my pc to the point that it crashes and gives me a Photoshop error message

                          Hi there. I completely understand where you're coming from. Please know we are looking at this issue closely. Unfortunately, there are a few different root causes and we are still identifying them individually. 

                           

                          We are working on a patch but the above steps should help to get you working again in the meantime.

                            If you want to help Sympa, give them access to versions over than v20 and v21 (I've had this issue with both, rolling back didn't help). CS6 was available until very recently, and that would be triage.

                             

                            You're leaving your customers out in the cold to freeze.

                             

                            I'm looking at Corel Paint and TV Paint very seriously now.

                              Hello, I would first try to recreate your preferences, in case an incompatible one has been transfered from Ps 2020: reset Photoshop's preferences by holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Pc) Cmd+Opt+Shift (Mac) as you click on Photoshop's icon to start it up.

                              If you do have access to the menu Edit>Preferences (Pc) or Photoshop>Preferences (Mac), it is possible to reset them from the General submenu.

                                I think it is not a problem related to preferences, my photoshop opens correctly but displays a generic error when trying to open any file.
