Hi all,

05/20 update: We have resolved another program error issue while dragging assets from libraries to the artboard in Photoshop 22.4.1 update. Could you please update Photoshop to the 22.4.1 version via the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app and let us know your feedback.

Here's how you update Photoshop to its latest version: Update Creative Cloud apps

Thanks,

Mohit

I was experiencing a problem trying to save edits made on an image. It allowed me to 'Save as' but not 'Save', Updated to PS 22.3 hoping that it would solve the problem, but same thing happens. Any input?

Thanks!

HI Everyone,

Here is what I have just done.

1. Creative Cloud app on my computer was mafunctioning as well as Photoshop saying it could not open files because of a program error

2.  Updated RAM from 16 gigs to 32 gigs on an i7 processor running 2.5 ghz

3.  I ran Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner to uninstall all apps.

4.  I reinstalled apps.

GOOD NEWS -  I can open Creative Cloud app with no issues.

BAD NEWS - Photoshop still runs a program error when opening graphic files.

Please help.

My post clearly shows my system and versions of PS and ACR as well as all of the steps I have taken to try to fix the problem. With all due respect, the response above is boilerplate.

PS 22.3, ACR 13.2 (latest), Apple MBP 2018, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4, Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB, Mac OS 10.14.6

I have already rolled back to the previous versions of PS and ACR.

Updated Macbook 15" to Big Sur 11.2.3 and started using the latest version of Photoshop available.

I'm able to "Save As" my files to my hearts content, however when I try to overwrite a previously existing .psd file,  it provides the error posted above in the subject line.

I've tried all existing solutions for the issue but to no avail. I have a sneaking suspicion the problem is with the OS system itself, as I've tried using older versions of photoshop that I used with my macbook while running OS Catalina, but still encountering the same save issue. Seeing as Apple won't allow its users to backdate their computer without wiping everything, I'm stuck with the current OS. Any help is appreciated, happy to give more information.

It's an obnoxious work around and is delaying my work considerably, seeing as I will occasionally run into glitches within photoshop that force me to shutdown the application, and the lack of auto-saving causes me to lose up to an hour of work at a time.

Thank you for your time.

I am so frustated. I keep getting the could not complete the System Info/Plugins/Performance (whatever I try) command because of a program error. I have done system restore twice to dates before this problem started. I have Windows 10 and it is fully updated. I run on Nvida GeForce615 graphics which is also updated and my system automatically supports basic accelleration in PS. My Photoshop v 22.3 is updated and current. I'm paying for software which I do not have any use of. This is really so frustrating. Doing the Edit > Preferences > Performance takes me to the dialogue box and that's how far I get as nothing reacts from there. Please help!

Same problems. Quadro FX 1800

PS won't even let me access Edit > Preferences >  gives "Program Error"

Some points:

- Clicking on a layer linked to a placed PSD produces error - clicking on normal layer does not

- unable to "Ctrl-T" for transform

- unable to switch Gradient for Gradient tool - but can use gradient tool with default fill

** I can "CTRL Click" a layer to select but using keyboard commands produces error (e.g. CTRL-A)

I can right-click on the image to select layer that has a placed image - I cannot click on the layer in the layers pallete without the "Program Error"

With my mouse I can choose >File>Save and save a file - I cannot "CTRL-S" to save without "Program Error"

Many other odd nuances to this - very frustrating.

Photoshop was updated to v. 22.3.1 but that only made things worse. After the update, Photoshop opens and displays error reporting stating that photoshop encountered a problem and needs to close. Never ending story ...

Many of us have gone back to 22.2 and are waiting until the next dot release to update. You can go back in the Creative Cloud app.

MY PS2021 PROGRAM AT MAC BIGSUR GIVES AN ERROR WHEN I TRY TO SAVE MY WORK. I CANNOT SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. DO YOU HAVE ANY ODEA ABOUT IT?

Adobe Camera Raw delivers a program error when opening any type of raw file. Lot's of posts about this but few good solutions. Runnnig Mojave, 32 Gigs of Ram, 4 Gigs of VRAM and a Radeon Pro 560X card on a 2018 Retina. Tried all of the listed Adobe solutions. Deleted prefs, deleted the temp file that disables the GPU. Log files say the GPU configuration is correct. Adobe says that the hardward/OS configuration is compatible...
