Paintbrush tool issues and actions disappeared after update to Adobe Photoshop Version: 2017.0.1

Issues with Adobe Photoshop Version: 2017.0.1.  Upon upgrade, if I close a file, with the paintbrush tool selected, and then open another file, the paintbrush automatically brushes onto that new image.  I have tried resetting the tools with no change.  Second, my actions, except for those that are preloaded with the program, have all disappeared.  So after an hour of digging up my backups and reloading them, they kind of work.

That's odd. Have you tried only the tool reset? You might try resetting the preference file.

Win: Press and hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift immediately after initiating Photoshop's startup. A box will appear asking if you want to continue with the reset, select "yes." If you don't see this, you weren't fast enough...Try again.

Mac: Press and hold Cmd+Opt+Shift then start Photoshop. A box will appear, asking if you want to continue with the reset, select "yes."

Are you sure your mouse's left click isn't stuck?
