Paper recommendations 300gsm

Hi there.

 

Not strictly Photoshop related, however, I am using Photoshop for the work so kind of fits 🙂

 

I am currently using Marrutt 300gsm Ultra Pearlescent A4 paper to print greeting cards on a Canon G650 printer and the results come out very well.

 

Looking for an alternative, hopefully cheaper, brand available in the UK.  The one I buy has gone up in price quite a bit in the last year or so.  Does anyone use anything similar that they would recommend please?

    @BarryWhitelaw Hi Barry, I'm UK based too - to be honest, its worth remembering that you rarely get what you don't pay for. [the other side to that equation is that you don't ALWAYS get what you do pay for, sadly). Cutting media cost may give inconsistent results due to cut price quality control.

    I think Marrutt's media is OK. If you're getting good results that’s probably a good media to stick with 

    It's worth noting that there are only a few mills out there manufacturing media so the same media is likely to be relabelled for various outlets .

    I like Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Pearl 290gsm media (manufactured by Tecco I believe) these days and have clients who like Innova. Maybe look at those?

      Thanks Neil for you reply.  You'll be correct of course, you get what you pay for.  I do find the Marrutt paper works every time, and gives great results, certainly to my eye, so I'll stick with that (even with the increase in price)
