Paste into not filling the selection

Hello, today I was attempting to paste a new sky into an image where I've selected the old sky and saved that selection. My sky image I am copying is 10 inches by 4.5 and my final image I'm pasting into is 6x4 inches, so smaller than the sky. I am doing command a, then edit > copy on the sky, then going to my image and doing edit > paste special > paste into and it is pasting with the sides cut off as if the sky is not wide enough to fill the selection, but I know that isn't true. Does anyone know what setting would be off to cause this problem? I am following a pretty specific tutorial for a class, but mine just isn't operating like the video. thanks.

When copying and pasting between documents, the only thing that matters is the width and height in pixels. Forget about inches because 5 inches with a resolution of 300 equals 1500 pixels, while 5 inches with a resolution of 72 equals 360, which is 4 times smaller. Can you post screenshots and document dimensions in pixels?

I'm relatively new at this stuff, so I realized this was the issue—thanks! I just assumed since the image was provided to us that wouldn't be the problem, but I was wrong!

Is the resolution different for the two files?
