Hi. Sorry for the newbie post but I am needing some help I want to put an image onto a baby changing mat. But I can’t seem to do it whilst seeing the outline of the mat and the creases in the material to make it look realistic. Any help or shortcuts would be much appreciated

thank you

Not sure if this is what you want. I put the photo of the dog on the changing pad. I made a selection of the pad to mask the image of the dog. I created a duplicate image of the pad to make a displacement map. I gave it more contrast and density: neutral doesn't move the image; white and black move in opposite directions. I also slightly blurred the image to make more even transistions. The image of the dog, I made into a smart object so I could edit the displacement and sizing better. I applied the displacement map at 30 px movement in each direction. I duplicated the original layer and placed it above the dog. I set the blend mode to overlay to add highlights and shadows to the dog image. I clipped a curves adjustment layer to the overlay layer to adjust the brightness of the overlay layer.

Perfect that’s exactly what I want to do. Don’t suppose you want to do a tutorial video lol or can point me in the direction of one?
