Pattern saved with 'Define Pattern' not showing up in swatch library

Hi, hoping someone can help! New patterns I save/define are not showing up in my swatch library.

This is since my mac updated recently (to Catalina 10.15.7) and I have the latest version of Photoshop (22.1.1) on CC. I am able to save a pattern, like usual, by selecting the canvas, then going to Edit > Define Pattern, it asks me to name the pattern with no other options - then the new pattern usually shows up in my swatch library when I go to either Edit > Fill or to add a pattern overlay. Right now Photoshop is letting me save a pattern but it's not showing up in my swatches, even though others I've made in the past are there. Any ideas please?

    I was having the same problem, with the same operating system and PS version. I don't know what's going wrong, but if I open the Patterns panel (Window > Patterns) and use the icon at the bottom to make a new pattern, it works properly. Hope it does for you, too!
