Patterns

I created about half a dozen patterns yesterday. They appeared in the dropdown select box. (Edit, Fill, Pattern). I used them. They were perfect.

Issue: Today, they're gone. Nowhere to be found.

Today, I edited one of them. Both versions appear in the Patterns panel.

Issue: The new version does not show up in the Edit/Fill//Pattern select box.

I guess my question is how do I create a pattern I can use two days in a row?

That is a very good question! You are not alone...

What version of Photoshop are you running? And what computer and operating system? We will be albe to help yo more effectively with that information.

I don't have a fix for you at the moment, but I have a workaround until the issue is fixed...at the end of the day, save yor patterns into a pattern file and then if they disappear, you can reload them.

After you create your patterns, Select each of them and from the flyout menu on the side of the Patterns Panel, Choose Export Selected Patterns. Save them in the Patterns folder that Opens up, and click save. Then tomorrow if your patterns are not there, select Import Patterns and select the group that you saved when the dialog opens up. This is just a workaround until the issue is fixed.

Make habit to save patterns after creating them.

PS 23.1 or 22.5.3

Windows 10

Does Adobe stores the patterns separately for each edition  of Photoshop? I  think I made the patterns while using version 23.1. I can't remember why, but I switched to 22.5.3, and that's when I noticed the patterns were gone. I switched back to 23.1, and there they were.
