Question

PDL Error Occured, only Photoshop

I recently got an OKI c844dnw printer. I set up multiple (~7) prints A3, 250g/m², 1200dpi in/through Photoshop which all went fine. Then I got "PDL Error Ocurred" on the printer whenever I wanted to print another one. All other programms (Acrobat, Word, Windows Test page) and papers I tested worked without a problem. Workaround was saving as PDF and print with Acrobat.

Printer guidelines only state that an error in the PDL occurred and I should try again.

So far I tried:

  • uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop
  • uninstalling and reinstalling printer driver
  • restarting PC multiple times

Nothing worked...

Any help where to even start would be much apreciated.

@Dollhopf hopefully by this time, you have resolved the printing issues. If you haven't, from my understanding, you are attempting to print maybe a large file from Photoshop directly to your OKI c844dnw printer? Normally when it comes to printer issues, its the printer drivers on the computer. But, it appears you have done all that already according to your post. Did you download and use printer driver provided by OKI for the best results not some third party website?

If it works with other apps, but not Photoshop. While Photoshop supports various file formats, some formats might not be fully compatible with the OKI c844dnw printer. The printer works when use the PDF setting. In this case, I would literally contact OKI for technical support for assistance. Here is a link for printer codes, https://okoki.co.uk/how-to-fix-oki-printer-error-codes — there is a form at the bottom to liase with them.

Sorry wasn't much help. Just gathering information for you — i know the pain with printers, when I get a new computer and printer, and it's usually I am networking on the wrong network or printer drivers!
