Pen Pressure not working with Monoprice 22 1080 tablet / Mac

My Setup

I'm using Photoshop CC 2015.5.1 on my iMac (2013) running El Capitan 10.11.2

32GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M 1024 MB Video Card

660+ GB Free storage

My Problem

I just purchased a Monoprice 22" 1080p display tablet - a Cintiq competitor you can draw on directly

MP 22-inch 1080p Battery-Free Pen Display Tablet, Black - 5048 LPI | 2048 Pressure Levels | 200 RPS - PC / MAC - Monopri…

I followed the instructions by uninstalling existing drivers first before installing those of Monoprice, and then lastly hooking up the monitor. I set up the monitor in system prefs with their software.

No matter what I do, I cannot get the pressure sensitivity to work properly. It's like I have 20 levels of pressure, not 2048. I hear this is somewhat of a common problem. I called tech support at Monoprice. Although very nice, his statement was:

"You have to set up pressure sensitivity in Photoshop itself, from what I've heard."

He did not know how to do that, apparently. But claimed that's what people do with Monoprice tablets of all models. After much searching around, including this forum, the only things I've found were to make sure Pen Pressure was set in Shape Dynamics in Brush Settings - which of course, it always has been. I fiddled around with it. I did notice initially it showed the "warning sign" icon next to Pen Pressure. After messing around, the icon went away - but the problem persists.

I have re-installed the drivers and restarted, that has not fixed the problem.

I can't be the only one with this problem. If someone has an idea of how to solve this, I would be greatly appreciative. The tablet itself is really nice and is a steal at $480, if only I can get the pressure to work.

P.S. Please do not come here to comment on buying "cheap" tablets. Not everyone can afford a $3,000 Cintiq. I've seen this in other threads, it's not helpful. This is all I can afford, and it is a replacement for my Yiynova 19" tablet monitor which served me well for 3 years.

I recently received this for my Birthday this year and I'm actually quite impressed.  Most of the issues I'm reading here and elsewhere are with the drivers which is software based not hardware.  This actually exceeds the way overpriced Cintiq as far as hardware.  The drivers, now that's another story.  However, the one I installed off the Monoprice site, seems to be working fine.  My only complaint, the lack of customizable settings in the driver's simplistic software.
As far as using it as a dual monitor vs single isn't an issue.  The proper way to set it up is to not hookup the USB and just have windows recognize the tablet, THEN install the drivers, you shouldn't have issues. I read this elsewhere although, I had also set it up that way and haven't noticed any issues drawing on this at all.  I even have been able to draw extremely tiny close lines with no jittering.

The glossy surface is only a little issue, however, I got used to it quickly and just began sketching immediately, it's a heck of lot better than drawing with a mouse, that's for sure.

All in all I really love this device.  It works so nicely with PS.

I believe that the Tablet FAQ linked from the front page of this forum is helpful to non Wacom tablet users.  The trick is to get the tablet using the WinTab API, and that non Wacom tablets apparently don't have the option to turn off the Windows Ink API in the driver properties.  The link below might help you achieve that.

Tablet support for Photoshop on Windows 8

Good luck.

I Just purchased the same Pen Tablet. It seems to work okay if I use a Single monitor(a dual monitor setup leads to all sorts of unresponsive and poorly calibrated pen actions). I can't use any of the Pen and tablet settings or calibrations with windows 7 or it just goes all wonky.  My headache is that the Driver does not include a Driver interface so I can make adjustments to the pen pressure, so as of now, it is drawing incredibly tiny lines when my pen size is pushed WAY up/ a .07mm when the setting is at 22mm. There is some pressure control, but it is very little compared to a cintiq.

is there an interface that yours included for adjusting the pen settings? Mine installed "touchpanel" but it's a weird Chinese instruction PDF on the driver installation.
