Pen pressure stops working every other line in Photoshop

I've been having this problem for a while but it's gotten to a point where it is making working impossible.

Every so often the brush tool on Photoshop will stop recognising pen pressure. If i draw maybe 5 brush strokes in a row, the 6th on will be a solid thick line, or it's like almost 40% of the time it's going to give me a solid pressureless line. This also happens with the eraser tool, and I'm not sure if it's related, but almost as often as the pen pressure being ignored a straight line will be made that will fly off to the side of the canvas, regardless of where the pen is.

What's worse is that when I'm needing to put down a delicate thin line, the line pressure problem is even more likely to occur.

I'm using a Wacom Cintiq, but using a different program such as Sketchbook doesn't show these problems at all, and the settings and diagnostics on the Tablet Properties doesn't show any errors either. It seems to solely be a Photoshop issue.

This image here shows some examples of what is happening:

As you can see regardless of a straight line or a curved line it happens, but on the curves it makes it jagged and imperfect.

This happens with all brushes as well, I haven't used a single brush where this doesn't occur.

Any help at all will be massively appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with pen pressure in Photoshop. Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop along with your computers operating system? Have you tried uninstalling & re-installing the Wacom drivers to check if that helps?

You can check out: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/tablet-support-faq-photoshop.html

Please let us know if it helps!

Regards,

Nikunj

Yeah I've done all of that unfortunately, thanks to another user it turned out that it was just the updated version of photoshop that was causing the problems.

Thank you for your response though!
