Question

Pen sensitivity not working still despite the tricks suggested in other forums

I'm so tired of everytime Photoshop gets an update I have to find some new way to get the damn thing to work the way it's supposed to. I've spent the last 2 1/2 hours trying every suggestion I've found in the forums, restarting programs, making sure everything is updated, checking to see if there was something wrong with the tablet itself, making sure Windows ink is unchecked, doing the whole creating a text file in the Adobe Photoshop settings with all that mess in it. I'm livid because no matter what I try I can not get any variance to the size of my brush stokes they always act like I'm pressing down on the tablet fully. Also for some damn reason I can only undo one step back now, when before I could go back several steps. If some one could give me a new suggestion that would be absolutely fantastic cause I'm at my wits end.

Other forums?  Well what did you expect?

What sort of tablet?
What operating system?
What version of Photoshop?

If Windows 8.1 or 10, are you  using Windows Ink or WinTab?

If WinTab, did you copy  the PSUserConfig.tx file across to the relevant CC 2019 folder?

I meant discussions, sorry I used the wrong terminology...

It's a Wacom Intuos  Art Small

Windows 10

Photoshop CC 2019 ( it just updated and that's when the problem occured)

I'm not using Windows ink because the last two times Photoshop has updated I've had to make sure that it is unchecked in my tablet settings.

I did try the PSUserConfig.tx file thing because that's what fixed it the last two times this has happened and this time it's been no such luck...

OK, there should be no problem getting your set up working.

Have you checked the contents of PSUserConfig.txt  ?  Is the file name spelled  correctly?

I have the comment line as well, but you don't need it for it to work.   I must have the following.

UseSystemStylus 0

Do you have a space before the zero?

The file location should be:

C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings

If you still have an issue after checking all that, and you have checked Wacom Preferences again, my guess is that you will be up  and running, but if not, we'll dig deeper

Good luck

Can't help with the tablet issue, cause I'm dealing with same sort of things with my macbook.

But, you may undo several times if you just click "ctrl + z", instead of "ctrl + shift + z" shortcut.
