Photo editing taking way too much time

I have to restart photoshop every 10 or less photos when editing (I'm a photographer) because it becomes soooooooo slow!! The first few photos are great, super fast touch ups and actions but after like 4-5 they all start taking way too long. So I have to shut it down and start back up again. I don't have this issue on my laptop version and I didn't used to have to do this. Does it just need an update (I don't see one available) or am I doing something wrong? Please help! Thanks!

    Ther is onlyone version of Photoshop Workstation, Desktop and Laptop run the same photoshop.....

      Yes I'm aware that it's the same version that's why it seems odd that it's only on my desktop that it malfunctions all the time.

      My desktop is a MacOS Sierra Version 10.12.6 - New I got it last September.

      There are no error messages so no screenshots

      It's just incredibly slow after a few edits of photographs. I don't do much to them, I'm mostly a newborn or maternity photographer so I use Photoshop mainly for skin ton corrections, fix up problem skin areas, the odd background fade and eye sharpening. It's not like I'm doing major photo editing. After about 5 images, it even takes time for the photo to load. I use Lightroom and when needed import into Photoshop and after image 5, it takes a while to load the photo over and then any corrections or filters that I add takes forever. I have time to edit other photos in Lightroom as it processes.
