I recently upgraded Photoshop CC to the latest version 22.3.0.
While the usual features work, Photomerge has stopped working. If I select File>Automate>Photomerge, nothing happens and PS appears to be frozen. I can only get out of PS by starting Windows task manager and quitting PS that way. No other menu items work at all.
I had an Adobe customer support person (Ashwini) have me uninstall and re-install photoshop, check that my version of Windows 10 is as current as possible, and I even updated my graphics card drivers. My system is as current as it can be as of today. Still nothing.
All of the other automate menu options work, just not Photomerge.
Since I still have a 2020 version of PS installed, I checked to see if Photomerge works there and it does. So, something has happened with the latest upgrade. Any ideas???

I have this identical problem on my new top of line HP Sceptre 13.5 Win11 i7, with latest update of Photoshop. Has neither Adobe, nor anyone, found a fix yet? When I reboot the laptop from scratch PS does one Automate-Photomerge - then it hangs when trying the 2nd - nothing works. If I kill PS as a process, and restart, no help - I must do a restart of the entire PC.
Please pass on any fixes available - this is a key feature I use frequently.

Well, this is interesting. Several months ago I tried using Photoshop Elements 10 Photomerge on my newer Dell Vostro 3888 computer. It is my only computer that is officially Windows 11 compatible. Photomerge will not work and creates an application error...I don't remember the Event Viewer error description.
Anyway, PSE 10 Photomerge works on all our other household computers, desktops and laptops, Windows 10 and 11 (installed using hacks). My solution was to put the Vostro on a shelf in the garage. This implies to me that the problem has something to do with the "architecture" of the new Windows 11 compatible computers.

Microsoft Image Composite Editor won't run on the Dell Vostro 3888 either!

Sorry, I should have tried ICE-2.0.3-for-64-bit-Windows.
It works fine

There is a longer thread with more discussion. This problem still exists in the latest version released in Sept 2024.
