Not sure what the heck Adobe did, because this tool used to work fantastic! It's not blending the layers well at all, as of recently. I tried to RE-edit an old pano about a month ago. I selected the raw images in bridge, opened in ACR, made my changes (to all of the images), went back to bridge, tools > photoshop > photomerge (automatic settings, as always), photoshop does it's magic (or not!) and blamo - looks like CRAP! It almost appears as if the images were shot at different exposures. The seams are really noticeable, sigh! Just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I reverted the changes and tried to stitch once more... same garbage! I'm soooo disappointed. My process hasn't changed at all. 4 years ago when I shot the images, I did the exact same process and it turned out beautiful. I don't understand what Adobe did. I even tried to re-create several other panos that I had no issues with in the past and same thing.... Please Adobe, help!

This is a user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.
Anyway: What are the exact settings you used in the Photomerge dialog?
Can you provide the files for testing?
And have you tried installing one of the previous Photoshop versions to test there?
Edit: Install a previous version of any Creative Cloud application
Which was the version you used at the time you originally created the panoramas?

You need to show screenshots of what the problem is.
That said, I always advise people to not use Photomerge, but instead split into its original components: Auto-Align, and Auto-Merge. This way you have much more control - not the least you get to decide which frame is at the bottom of the stack and thus the reference point.
Also make sure you have checked "seamless tones and colors", but unchecked auto-fill.
Finally, there are visible stitch lines at some zoom levels. These are just on-screen artifacts that disappear at 100% view and in the final result.

I have the same issue, photomerge doesnt work properli in automation mode. It ;s not blending layers properly. Photosho 2020. Before I've been using CS5 and CS6 and everything was okay, now it looks like a one big sh..t. I am working in photoshop since CS5 until now all wersions and 2020 is fu..ed up. The layers are flatten into one image and it looks like this, strange lines and very poor qualit. As I said I hadn't such issues with older wersions of photoshop. I tried multiple times with differten options but the result is always the same. I have very good PC station.

The same image done in CS6 all is good quality with no strange lines and blending mode works properly. In CS6 photos were merged twice more faster than in PS 2020. What can I say 2020 is a bulls..t.
