Photomerge Tool Issues

I'm having trouble with the Photomerge tool in the new version of Photoshop. Everytime I try to merge some photos together, it keeps saying that some photos could not be alligned. Do you know how to fix that problem?

Then you don't have enough solid overlap. This is pattern recognition, and about 40% overlap is required.

 

A very common mistake is to have large areas of water and sky. But moving water and waves are actually completely different from frame to frame and just throws the algorithm off. Sky usually doesn't have enough distinctive structure.

 

For interiors and closer subjects, parallax error can easily prevent proper alignment. The optical center of the lens needs to sit at an absolute fixed point.

 

Geometric distortion in each frame (barrel/pincushion) needs to be corrected first.
