When opening an image from Bridge, the picture opens in a Photoshop window within Bridge instead of the Photoshop interface. Any ideas why this happens and is there a way to prevent this?
THANKS
I think the problem is Spaces,
That is photoshop cc 2015.5 and cc 2017 don't seem to work right as far as document window placement goes with spaces when photoshop and bridge are in different spaces.
If you either set Open Documents as Tabs in Photoshop>Preferences>Workspace or turn of the Application Frame ((Window>Application Frame), then the photo you open from bridge will go to the space that photoshop is in instead of remaining in the space that bridge is is in.

Hi. Is there any way you can provide a screenshot of what's happening? Also, some info on your operating system, Bridge and Photoshop versions?

I'm using Windows so may not be much help here. First is 'Open Document as tabs checked in Photoshop preferences?
It looks as if you are using what on Windows is called Virtual Desktops. What happens when Photoshop and Bridge are on the same desktop when you try to open into Photoshop? On Windows you can have the programs on separate desktops and the change of focus is detected so the image opens in Photoshop as required as the desktops just automatically change. Maybe this is a bug, but someone with a Mac would be needed to confirm that.

For anyone wondering what Spaces is, it's like using virtual destops on windows like Terri surmised.
To me it seems to be a bug, but adobe would have to confirm that.
