Are you getting any errors? Try resetting your preferences ctrl-k on windows or cmd-k on mac for preference panel then at bottom click reset preferences at next startup.

What computer (mac or windows)?

What operating system and its version?

Can you view the images in another program?

What steps are you taking to open the files?

OK, you select File then Open to get the open dialog box.

You can see the file you want to open? If no you need to change the file type to allow it to display that format or choose all.

If yes, you then choose that file, click OK, the open dialog box disappears and a document appears?

If no then try resetting the preferences as I mentioned above

if yes then try updating your video card driver, it may be interfering with the image displaying.

Next is to open the preference panel (ctrl-k or cmd-k) click on Performance then temporarily turn off the use graphics processor and see if that helps.

If it didn't you need to verify your computer meets the specs required for photoshop

Photoshop system requirements

If you need more help let us know. Hopefully something above works.
