Photoshop 2020 - Gradient Tool Doesn't Pickup Main 2 Colors Anymore????

Photoshop 2020 now seems to want me to click 10 times to select gradient colors? Is this really the only way to do it? I'm used to the gradient picking up whatever my main 2 colors are. I hate having to tap into that gradient widget and then click those little squares for both the two colors and opacities... This has slowed down my workflow 10x...

Please let me know if there's a better way to have the color selection happen automatically based on my two main colors. Please!!!

Normally it works when the first gradient (foreground/background) is marked in the options bar

This is exactly what I want. But 2020 photoshop looks like this:

I assume you're not actually in photoshop 2020 when you sent this. If you are, please tell me how to get it back to what you have (which is what all the other versions of photoshop do)

I use PS 2020, but took over my presets when updating. Could it be that you have not activated the "Show recents" option in the gradient panel? Then you won't see the extra bar at the top. In the gradient panel you can organize the gradients much easier than before. Just drag the desired preset to the first position

Robert -

You can set up the interface similar to the old style, by dragging selcted sawtches to the top of the list. you can do thus using either the Gradients panel or the Tool drop-down.

Be sure the Foreground/Background graident is first in the list, as Marianne said.
