Photoshop 2020 System Requirements
Hi,
Referring to the system requirements for Photoshop CC 2020 I would like to ask for some advice. Firstly, I note that within the software’s performance preferences my graphics processor is not detected. I can only presume that this is because it has been listed as unsupported?
Having taken a massive leap from Photoshop CS6 Extended to Photoshop CC 2020 I thought initially that things were working reasonably well. However, I have since seen a huge degradation in Photoshop’s ability to function responsively. To the extent that when changing a piece of text on a layer within the timeline I have needed to scrub the playhead to make the ‘old’ text disappear. Also when using the healing and patch tools I have had rendering problems too. However I have just downloaded the latest update 21.2.1 and these problems “appear” to have gone away. Feeling a little bit in a quandary as to where things are failing at the moment!
In order to eliminate what is likely to be hardware issues, I am considering upgrading my graphic card to one recommended (i.e. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or equivalent, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or Quadro T1000). I am currently trying to establish their compatibility with my current system spec and would appreciate if you are able to advise on that. Alternatively can you recommend a graphic card that would give best performance and the likely impact it would have upon the deprivation of some of Photoshop's features. I appreciate that I would probably need to upgrade my PSU in doing so.
