Photoshop 2020: Zoom tool bug when flipping canvas horizontally

When I flip the canvas (View>Flip Horizontal) wherever I click with the zoom tool it immediatly attatches to the left side of a document, this happens with most zoom option, like dragging, scrubby zoom or just clicking, however it does not happen when zooming with the mouse wheel, so the problem must be the clicking action.

If there's a way to fix this right now please do let me know, I am an illustrator and I rely heavily on flipping the canvas.

I'm also having issues with zoom tool using shortcut keys. Especially if the image is rotated. When the image is rotated like 90 degrees it zooms to the right of the screen(using shortcut keys). It also happens when zooming in when image has been flipped using view flip horizontal.  I checked it and it's more noticable in the flip when monitor is in portrait mode, which my monitor is.. but when like A4 doocument is rotated 90 degrees it zooms to the right of the screen.

Hi there,

Sorry that Zoom tool in Photoshop 2020 is not working as expected as it keeps flipping through the canvas horizontally.

If a tool in Photoshop isn't working properly (for example, the crop tool crops a tiny little gray square, or painting with a brush paints the wrong color or nothing at all), try resetting the tool settings:

  • Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) the Tool Preset Picker in the Tool options bar and choose Reset Tool to reset the active tool, or choose Reset All Tools to reset all tools to their factory default settings.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Akash

I have the exact same problem. Resetting does not fix it.

We'll most likely have to wait for a bug fix patch, brother 😞
