Question

Photoshop 2024 vs. Photoshop 2023 Mask Icon

I have a question about the Photoshop 2024 vs. Photoshop 2023 Mask Icon.  In 2024, the new mask icon gets partially covered up with a small icon to the lower right.  In 2023, the mask icon is not partially covered up with a small icon.  Is there a way in Photoshop 2024 to not have the mask icon get partially covered up (have it look like icon in Photoshop 2023)?

See attached screenshots.

Hi @Bill2459283012af, thanks for posting. There isn't a fix yet, other than to revert to a previous version before the mask icon appeared. There is another thread about it here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/layer-mask-icon-changed-ps25-1/m-p/14197249#M762582. Note, a moderator may merge your post into that one.

The beta version has an option to disable the badges in Panel Options, but it is not sticky.  They are right back theree again after a restart.  I got an Update Available pop up when I fired it up this morning (NZ time), so I am waiting for that to complete to see if there are any changes.

Sorry.  No change regards the sticky layer mask badges.   I am sure it will be sorted out, and we need to remember that the beta version is pre-release and not expect it to be 100% problem free.

[EDIT]

If you have the screen space, the badges are far less intrusive if you set thumnail size to Large
