Question

Photoshop 2025 not using GPU (GPUForce = 0) despite RTX 4060, Studio Drivers, clean setup

Hello Adobe team,

I'm experiencing a persistent issue with Photoshop 2025 and Camera RAW. Despite having compatible hardware and drivers, Photoshop does not use my GPU at all, and GPUForce remains at 0.

My system specs:

  • Laptop GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 (Laptop)

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (fully updated)

  • Photoshop version: 2025.x (latest)

  • Camera RAW version: latest

  • Driver: NVIDIA Studio Driver (clean DDU install)

  • GPU settings: Photoshop and sniffer.exe forced via NVIDIA Control Panel

Steps I’ve already tried (without success):

  1. Clean uninstall of all NVIDIA drivers using DDU (in Safe Mode)

  2. Installed latest Studio Driver (clean install)

  3. Forced GPU usage via NVIDIA Control Panel and registry keys

  4. Created system-level environment variables (PHOTOSHOP_FORCE_GPU)

  5. Disabled & re-enabled GPU usage in Camera RAW preferences

  6. Reinstalled Photoshop via Creative Cloud

  7. Verified that all other GPU-accelerated applications work fine

Symptoms:

  • GPUForce in Photoshop system info shows 0

  • Camera RAW does not use GPU acceleration (e.g. Denoise AI not available)

  • Camera Raw GPU Log.txt shows fallback to CPU

  • GPU is detected in DXDiag and NVIDIA control panel, but ignored by Photoshop

Please advise on what might be causing this issue. I'm happy to provide more diagnostics or test beta builds if necessary.

Thank you in advance,

I might be wrong but your setup seems to be fine, in my photoshop info it also says gpuforce = 0 and denoise is working fine on  supported file formats

Supported image formats for Denoise

  • Bayer and X-Trans mosaic raw files.
  • Linear DNGs (including HDR and pano DNG images previously created inside Lightroom and Camera Raw)
  • Smart proxies (DNG proxies)
  • Monochrome raw files (such as Leica M MONOCHROM)
  • Canon sRAW/mRAW files
  • Nikon small raw files
  • Fujifilm (non X-Trans Raw files)
  • Sony AQR
  • Pentax Pixel Shift Resolution (PSR) files
  •  Foveon cameras
  • Apple ProRaw DNGs
  • Samsung Galaxy Expert Raw

@Therotos Try disabling your Intel Arc GPU - perhaps that is conflicting.
