Photoshop 22.0.0 - "Save As..." -> "Replace" does not overwrite file as expected. (Mac 10.15.6)

Major bug from 21.x.x still exists in latest release.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a document with layers. Use the Save As... command to save as a JPG.
  2. Make changes to document. Click "Save As..." save as JPG using the same name.
  3. OS will ask if overwriting the file. Click "Overwrite."
  4. PS will ask about jpg settings.
  5. File is saved with " copy" appended to name, it does not overwrite file as indicated.

This bug appears anytime a file with layers is being saved without layers. This includes PNG, TIFF, and even PSD files.

This bug breaks dynamic linking. And causes a lot of stress and anxiety.

This bug also has it's own bug. If you name your file "Untitled-1 copy.jpg" and attempt to save over it, the file will be overwritten as the program warns. Basically adding " copy" to your filename causes Photoshop to work the way it has worked up until version 21.x.x. This causes a problem for anyone who expect the app to not overwrite files, even when it tells you it will. (Which should be no one, but this is the internet.)
