For the past few days, I can't tell why, photoshop crashes any time I open a file bigger then 500 MB.
It runs on HP Spectre, windows 10, 16 GM RAM, 70 GB free space.
Photoshop version is 22.2, and the same files worked perfectly fine before that.
Any idea why and how to fix that?

Hi,
We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop due to Photoshop crashing while working with larger files. Please try updating Photoshop to the latest version (22.3) through the Creative Cloud desktop app to check if the issue persists.
You can also try optimizing the preferences of Photoshop using the steps suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html
If the issue persists, you can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2Qzc0K3
Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FG
Let us know how it goes!
Regards,
Nikunj

Hi and thank you for the response.
I tried to update the version to 22.3, but it is still crashing. Also this new version has a new path settings which I don't like and couldn't change so I went back to 22.2.
Optimizing the performance preferences didn't work as well, tried in different ways...
I even uninstalled including presences then reinstalled with default preferences but it's still the same.
Might it be something related to windows settings for RAM management?
